  1. Ok i explain.

First of all convert printer to DTG/UV or whatever. Then test it, make sure CR assembly is not jamming/Stucking at left or right side because once you modify printer mainboard , CR motor jamming protection may work or may not work because CR assembly jamming is sensed by sensing CR motor current and you are gonna make epson mainboard fool that CR motor is taking less current. So This should be last step of conversion process.

Check attached Diagram of L1800 / 1430 Printer.

IC A6628 is responsible for driving CR motor. R59 Marked in diagram is responsible for CR motor current sense.Attach other resistor parallel with 0.24E resistor. For Example attache 0.5E resistor parallel with 0.24E resistor. This cause current sense voltage to drop and make epson mainboard fool that current consumption is low and cause CR motor to run at full speed all the time.

I have not tried above method till now because of lack of time. This must work as per theory. You may try at your own risk.If your CR motor Jam or Stuck then it may burn IC A6628 so beaware.I will also update on this post once i do experiment witch actual resistor value and all.

  2. Hello Friends

I have successfully converted Epson L1800 to UV but i have some question and  facing some problem with printer.

I am using Partner Rip as for now.

Following is my questions and problems.

    (1) What should be wiper blade position during printing process ? My wiper blade remains 90 degree to head during printing. Shouldn't it to face head while printing?can any one provide wiper blade position sequence ?

    (2) When i start printing large object it prints vivid colour and super quality but slowly slowly print becomes faint if i do ink flush from Epson utility  again printer start printing in vivid colour and then slowly slowly becomes faint after few prints. What should be reason of it ? is it air leakage of dampers ?

    (3) I have removed Epson original tank and added UV ink bottles for ink supply by drilling two hole on top of bottle one for ink cap and one for air. What should be height of ink bottles compared to print head.If i rise height of bottles then ink continuously leaking through head.If i lower bottles then i need to do ink charge frequently to maintain print quality.

    Awaiting response from your side!!!

  3. Hello

It is not the problem of CR motor , Main board , UV led  or anything else.Sometime resetting CR motor heat protection may work or may not.

Due to load of ink pipes and drag chain on CR motor, it consumes more current causes printer main board to predict that it is heating high.CR motor temperature is just prediction by Epson main board based on it's current consumption.

I my self suffered from similar problem and change CR motor Main board etc but not got any solution.

I have seen one amplifier adaptor like device on aliexpress. Which takes signal input from CR motor and drives CR motor from external power supply. It simply make Epson main board fool that motor is not consuming high current and feeds current to motor from external supply.

Use that adaptor and your will solve.
