  2. Thats right.. I have the matte films.. and from china.. i live out side of the USA.. so dtfsuperstore with international shipping was costing me nearly double Ok let me try with the max ink settings.. Thanks again
  3. Hi.. I started out demoing the Cadlink rip for my P400.. I am not happy with the colours and the white base settings... I am struggling to get the settings tweaked... any suggestions... Have a look at the results ... may be the ink is too much or the white base... the colours are too dark and the white base is bleeding through i am guessing.. any suggestions..
  4. Hi.. I am currently using acrorip 10.. but not really happy .. so downloaded the trial for cadlink today. Question... what settings did you end up using for your P400 for best results. any screen shots if you can kindly share... Thank you.
  5. Ouch.. .. I saw a couple of P400 without print heads being sold on Ebay UK for very cheap.. ... may be you need part swap from those.. Good Luck ..
  6. Hi.. This is good information for me as well.. I am on the same platform (P400)... I cant access the video unfortunately because its says "Unable to locate content for me"... any suggestions ....
  7. Thanks this site didn’t have the P405 but u gave it a go with P407 and that worked like a charm …thanks another question how many A3 or A4 prints do you achieve with one set of filled carts .. I am at the moment pissed about how much time Acrorip takes to send the files to the printer .. (it’s over 7 mins for a A3 print size) May be I just to Cadlink or EkPrint .. what are your experiences .. also I notice the Acrorip can only knockout blacks .. not the whites .. really disappointed ..
  8. I bought it from an official Epson distributor in Australia .. .. they shipped it to me as it was within their international courier limit of 22kg (the printer boxed was 16.5 kg) So the cost of printer and shipping combined was just around USD900 .. .. I think the printer alone was USD690 and the rest USD210 was shipping through DHL ..
  9. Another little secret for anybody who is interested … the Australian version of Epson P400 (called P405) is still a production model … and being sold directly from Epson. I got mine including shipping and customs to Dubai United Arab Emirates for around USD$900 (I know spent higher) So far it works with it works with chipless firmware… it works with the chipless carts .. it works with the rip software .. I didn’t try the adjustment program yet because the ones available are for P400 or P407 but nothing specifically for P405.. I am just thinking to give it a go and see if it works.. Just make sure you have the relevant step down or step up power conversions from 110V to 220V
  10. Thanks for the reply .. I wanted to look into the roll printing on the P400.. but looks like the supported roll adapters are too small I guess … What I was looking at was the 33cm x 100m rolls from Alibaba.. and they clearly looked bigger than the available roll adaptors of the P400… what’s your solution on this .. did you buy or make one to custom.. any pictures you can share please .. thanks again ..
  11. Thank you... and some latest update... I did exactly what you suggested for the carts for the two holes.. left the air hole open.. worked like a charm... I didn't have any chip on the carts.. but you are right when i was installing them, i noticed they were pulling on some plastic piece on the carts which was meant to hold the chips.. so i just tossed those pieces off from the carts.. and they installed perfect .. I went with YMCKWWWW setup.. Have a look at my first print .... I had purchased the Acrorip 10.2 (Because I was initially working towards the XP15000 which didn't workout).. so now stuck with Acrorip ... I am playing with the colour and white percentages .. I went with 30% colours and 30% white.. with 1440 x 1440... The feel is just about right .. but I wish I could get a little more vibrancy for the colours and more opaque whites.. What do you suggest for the percentages.. Also some things.. do you turn off your P400 DTF converted printer or leave it on (I leave my other pigment ink and sublimation printer always on) .. Also would you advise to leave the DTF inks in if you plan to print within the next 24 hours or do you always install the cleaning carts over night.. Thanks again for your help...
  12. Just got my new Epson P400 (Learnt its the P405 Australian version)... Installed the chipless software .. thanks.. Installed the waste tank bottle... Now I have questions and need a little help... 1. The ink carts I got were without chips.. so thats fine.. however I noticed there are two holes on the top... do I have to leave either of them open for air flow.. or Keep them both closed.... (See Picture) 2. I noticed the P400 has a "Card Stock" tray which lifts up the pizza rollers.. If I just leave it at that.. would it work ? or I need to take the pizza rollers out.. (See Picture) Thanks for your help.. I feel the P400 should have its own discussion board.. we do have a few P400 users now.. Thanks you @johnson4 @Mdrake2016
  13. Hello.. Kindly guide me where to get this utility from ... As always really appreciate your help thanks
  14. Thanks... this is useful information for me as well... I am waiting on my P400 to arrive.. (After my fails and wasting money and time with the XP15000 and the Epson 4900) Question... DId you get the Chipless software and chipless carts? I am in the process of ordering carts. Found on alibaba ARC chip version and the without chip ones which are basically half the price... As I am going to do the chipless firmware install anyway, was thinking to use the without chip ones save some money .... Also another question to you.. would you get the film on roll or on sheets with the P400..
  15. Thank you. you mean the ones which need the key on every reset (WIC) .. thats 6-7$ for each time or key... or is there any other reset utility you use (Kindly share a link) thanks. One more question.. for the roll printing.. do you use the P400's roll attachment ? if yes than what is the size of rolls which worked for you with out a problem... 33cm or 30cm.. 10 meters or 100 meters.. thanks.
  16. Hi .. question for your P400. does the chipless software cover the waste ink resets as well.. What solution do you recommend for the P400 waste ink management... thanks.
  17. I got the used Epson 4900.. it was sitting for over 2 years.. took out the print head... 7 out of 10 nozzles clear... 3 are dead.. (I just tried standard water based printer head cleaner (Mild)... now i will move it up a notch to Windex or piezo... all the dampers are caked with ink all the piping is also caked with ink.. i didn't get a chance to hit the epson power flush yet as the maintenance tank was gone and the new one is in the mail... Question at this point do you think i can make do with CMYK +WWW (7 channels) if worst case i just get to though 7 cleared nozzles... secondly do you think i should order new dampers and motor assembly and piping .. or try to clean it with something aggressive like contact cleaner alcohol
  18. New update .. so I gathered the guts to move with the XP15000… took it out of the box .. put the plug in to move the print head slightly so I could free the print head and move out of way of the pizza roller screws … the very first power on gives a smoke cloud and phuff the printer is gone … this is some seriously in reliable DTF printer … the printer is going back to newegg.. but wow what a clear sign to stay clear from the XP15000 lineup… so that just happened… guess my only choice is P600 which I have on hand …… I do have a SC4900 in sight from a seller but that printer has been sitting for over a year without printing … and the ink has all dried out … not sure if I should risk my money on it .. I did read and saw some videos on how the SC4900 is also great DTF DIY printer… any experience with an old printer revival? or should I stay clear.. the seller says he didn’t even buy the 2nd set of inks for the printer .. so I am guessing it’s done under 1500-2000 prints..
  19. Hi.. just going through some of the comments and seeing the challenges and hassles people are facing on the XP15000 (which I was working to convert to DTF).. I am now double minded … I am at a stage where I haven’t put DTF ink in the printer yet… and yet to buy the RIP software and chipless software I have two printers one is XP15000 brand new no existing ink in channels… and another is a P600 with original pigment ink cartridges which I may need to flush I have the supplies to convert either of the two printers to a DTF printer.. my usage will be around 30-50 A3 prints in a week.. print runs every other day… Question is.. should I go after the XP15000 conversion or P600… the only reason I was wanted to use the XP15000 was because the cartridges sit on top of the print head and I thought it would be best to swap the carts with cleaning solution after every print run to keep them unclogged, in case I come after two three days for prints. Kindly suggest, as I am confused.
  20. Thanks for the reply .. I think that should do it … I am assuming you use the chip resetter from AliExpress … any other technology or permanent software resetter..
  21. Hello.. this forum is great … I picked up the XP15000 for converting to DTF… didn’t load up the ink yet, but want to understand and possibly find a solution for the waste ink box.. can anyone guide me what is best mod for the waste ink box.. thank you..
  22. Hi all, Did anyone had success converting the Epson P700 or P900 to DTF. Rip software / Ink system / refillable carts etc.
